My First Blog on the First Dary of Our 35th Anniversary Trip

Our trip to the Olympic Peninsula to celebrate our35th wedding anniversary may seem like an unusual time to learn how to blog; however, getting away gives me some time to experiment with the art of blogging, with Donna's help of course! So here are some thoughts on the first day of our 5-day trip.

One thought is how thankful I am to be with my life partner these past 35 plus years. A sign of this blessing was symbolized today with a beautiful sunny day after a week of heavy cool rain for this time of the year. The sunshine warmed our relationship even after 35 years!

Another thought from today is how grateful I am for the opportunity of living in the beautiful Northsest. The drive from Bellingham over Deception Pass on to Whidbey Island, through Coupeville to catch the ferry for Port Townsend was simply gorgeous! Then briefly surveying the area around Port Angeles where we will stay for two nights added to our appreciaton of this marvelos creation.

Finally, have you had days when everything seemed to go well? Of course, there probably have been days when things didn't always go that way. Well, today was the former. Consider some "fine" things that happened today: I mentioned the sun after days of heavy downpours, we arrived at the 11a.m. ferry departure schedule at exactly 10:55a.m., the directions to our hotel were exact, reference to a resturant by the hotel clerk resulted in a delecious mid-afternoon mean. All this has heightened our anticipation for a fine time tomorrow on the second day of our trip.

Following are a few photos of this day's adventure:
